My favourite race, the Kentucky Derby is running today at 3:30 I think. Hubby and I are thinking about going to the local casino and putting a bet on.
There is a horse called Mor Spirit that sounds promising, I'll have to see him before I bet. I will let you know later what we do.

Mor Spirit cost me, I have him in a trifecta with him coming first, NOT. The other two horses came in but no payoff for them. Hubby won $150, so the day was not a total write off.

My X took my Granddaughter to Keenland and he put 100.00 on the one that won (cant spell the name :o ) and got 300.00 so he gave her a hundred of it. He use to work at the horse farms around here (when he was young) he very good with horses, and knows how to pick the winners, we use to go to Keenland all the time. He even worked with Secretariat (after his retirement)
On the drive to Lexington you pass nothing but horse farms, they are all over the place. Its beautiful here especially in the summer months when everything is green.
I just sat here and watched it on TV

Oh Honey it is beautiful here, ill give it that. If you're ever bored, get on Google Earth and take a ride out Russell Cave Rd (that's my route to Lexington) or Paris Pike, and just look at the farms, and Mansions. Some of the horse barns are nicer than most houses

It is pretty never been there but have seen pics I live in Oklahoma so our grass's arn't near as pretty but hubby has planted some of the bluegrass and others types so we can have some plots of green not matter what time of year.....

I remember in 7th grade horse racing was big here and my sister would go and bet, but she would let me look thru the ?? role call? of the diff ones running and pick out win, place show and even though I couldn't place a bet there were times she used my picks and won a bit. She never did share with me either! :? pouts.... I remember sitting a desk in class and inside my school book there would be the races cutout of newspaper and instead of doing my school work I would be choosing and picking my fav lineup.... No wonder I never got past 7th grade!

When I was a kid, I used to pretend that I owned the race horses and I would make up names for them. Have pretend races, be the jockey and of course win.

When I was a kid I climbed trees!! Rode my bike on the dirt track across the street, played baseball, and I don't think I even knew a horse existed.    That was in Michigan.
